I was hoping someone would ask some questions so I would know what everyone would like to know about me. hmmm what else can i say.
Heres a story about last night.... Mumzy was getting us supper and my door was unlatched. I thought she was taking a long time and i wanted to make sure she remembered me so i flung the door open - i thought i was helping by letting her in my stall easier but i guess she didnt think so, the bucket of water she had for me went flying ! yikes...... Mercedes got supper before me :(
Here is a picture of me and my dog. I really dont mind dogs, my girl has a very little one and he seems to think he can scare me but all i have to do is turn and look at him and he isnt quite so brave. My other girl (I actually have 2) has a .... well im not sure what it is but it is the size of a horse but smells like a dog - i heard the work great dane once - anyway, I love that animal (whatever it is) he runs beside me and we do circles in the field, i think he has a crush on me too <3
ok , thats all i have for today.... ask me questions..... does anyone know of  a new home for me?

Its Sunday again... already! wow that week went by fast. The wind is blowing like crazy and that is my least favorite kind of day - blankets on ? blankets off??? we opted for off but Mumzy put our hay on the side of the hill so the wind was a bit blocked and the sun was shining on us.  I got a treat last night with   supper... Mumzy shared her beer with me :) yummmmm I love beer! makes my belly warm and fuzzy <3. Probably I should tell you a bit more about myself. When I first came to my home now, I did not have any shoes on. I was never riden so I was left barefoot. When I first got here, Mumzy put hard metal shoes on my feet but I didnt mind because it kept my feet from hurting when i walked on hard surfaces. Thats when we were riding alot, sometimes in the woods and fields, sometimes around and around in circles in the ring - that was hard work..... Mumzy made me go in circles, bend and flex , go fast and then slow, she made me move away from pressure and yield to the bit.... boy did i sweat during those rides but I loved them and learned something new everyday. we usually ended the hard work with a nice long walk on the trail. For the past few years i have been barefoot again. We havent been riding as much and when we do it is usually on the trail so Mumzy bought me some special boots to where only when we are out and about but when i am in the pasture it is all grass so i dont need any shoes. I will try to get Mumzy to take a picture of my fancy boots a little later, i feel very special when i have them on but they make my feet feel a bit heavy. So all this leads me to admit.... I dont have very strong hooves. I take special supplements that seem to help, biotin and selenium, when I dont take them my feet crack and chip and look a mess but the supplements seem to help so that is the story with my disadvantaged hooves. On the bright side i dont need the farrier as oftern because my feet dont grow that fast. But i do like when the farrier comes. I stand very still and try to behave myself because I dont want to hurt her when she is giving me my pedicure. So my story will continue, Mercedes is doing fine right now, but Mumzy is still worried about him and doesnt want him to be in any pain, seems to me he is getting a bit cranky but maybe thats because he is ready for spring just like me. If any of you have any questions that me or Mumzy can answere, please leave a comment. I am still writing this in hopes that someone will be the perfect home for me when Mercedes is gone....... Hope to hear from some of you soon.....until then these are a few pics of me when Mumzy and I were working almost every day... Wowza did I look like Secretariat or what! hahahah

So Mumzy hasnt written in a few days because all this talk about me leaving makes her sad and she wondered if she was doing the right thing by finding me a new home. I reassured her that after Mercedes leaves I would not be happy alone. She agreed but not before kissing my nose (the sweetest smelling nose around if I must say so myself)
So I need to tell you a bit more about myself. First thing you need to know is I dont eat hay in the barn. A few years ago I ate some dusty hay and got a bad case of heaves, The vet came and I didnt get anymore hay that spring but the grass was starting to grow so I did fine. After that I got hay outside and dingy (special dust free hay) in the barn. It has worked well and I havent coughed since that spring , I even got a few sweet flakes this winter in the barn when it was really cold and it didnt bother me. That is why it is really important that I go to a home with alot of pasture because the less hay I eat the better. So that is one of my quirky qualities.... I'll tell you more later. For now I need to much on my dingy and get a little beauty sleep.
PS Mumzy said to remind her to never where chapstick in the spring again when she is brushing a shedding horse :) She looked like she has hairy lips ! hahahah

Blah blah blah, thats all I have to say about today. It must be one of those days called monday, everyone was grumpy, the wind was blowing, even Mercedes kept giving me dirt looks - what did I do to him? I, on the other hand, am always in a good mood. Best part of today? well it had to be the extra sweet bale of hay we got, you never know, each bale is different but today? it was yummy! Grumpy Mercedes kept trying to scare me away but Mumzy always puts the flakes in lots of different places so I always have a pile to go to :) Kinda miss the snow this winter, even though I get really cold I like to play in it. Here are a few pictures of me playing in it ......  Hope Merecedes gets up on the right side of the poop pile tomorrow and maybe we'll get another sweet bale of hay! I will pretend my fresh shavings are snow tonight and I will have sweet dreams :)

I am So Embarrassed!

When Mumzy came up to put us in the barn this evening, Mercedes and I were playing "fancy horse". Thats when we run around  and kick and rear and snort.... you know.... well.... I thought I would be special and do a piaffe.... Mumzy said she would teach me how to do it someday but I thought I could do it myself...... hmmmmmmm - guess not! when my feet touched the ground it was all mud - I tried to keep my balance but it was too late - PLUNK! flat on my side in the mud and then to make it worse I slid about 20 feet. Aughhhh When I finally regained my composure, I pranced around and made believer I had ment to do that but I think Mercedes and Mumzy both knew.....I got an old busquit that Mumzy had brought me and that long awaited rub down... I feel better now. Mumzy told me to stop trying the dressage moves until someone teaches me how to do them :)

Oh lazy Sunday, how I love you! Mumzy was going to go for a ride but the wind was blowing a bit too hard. You see, in the spring when the weather starts getting nice and I start feeling my oats it only takes a bit of a breeze under my tail to bring the thoroughbred worm out in my brain. Thats what Mumzy says anyway, so instead I spent the day sunbathing and rolling in the mud .... mmmmm that felt so good. Maybe that means I'll get a good rub down tonight as well heheheh. While I was dozing on my side I had a dream of last summer, when the fields were green and the breeze was warm. Mercedes and I had the whole back forty to roam around in (until we got into mischief that is) Mercedes kept telling me the grass was greener across the forest line. I didnt want to go, the forest along the river kinda scares me but he kept telling me I was a chicken, so finally, after looking around and seeing no Mumzy and no fence to keep me in (I always stay away from the fence) I took the leap and ran as fast as I could through the trees. Hot on my heals was Mercedes.... hmmm wonder why he didnt go first? Anyway, to make a long story short the grass was greener but I was so scared and excited I couldnt settle down to eat it and when Mumzy found us she didnt look too happy. Ohhh that was a bad day. Now we dont roam the back forty anymore :( I hope my new home will have big fields and friends I can run with. Here are some pictures of that day last summer.

Oh bother, mumzy was late getting us out this morning! what was she thinking? I love these warm mornings we are having this winter. I usually have to have a blanket on all winter because I dont grow alot of that winter fuzz that some horses do. Maybe because of my thoroughbred ancesters? not sure. Anyway, i have only had to wear that stinky old blanket a few times this winter. When we got our hay thrown to us this morning I just sniffed it and wandered down in the field, I actually think there are a few fresh grass shoots coming up! IN FEBRUARY! crazy I know but they do taste good. Back to my ancestors and how I came to be in this pasture. I was born in Missouri, plans were to be a polo pony. Hmmmm, know one asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up but it certainly wasnt a polo pony. It scared me to have those other horses running full blast at me - jees who would want to do that? The only thing I really got from that early training is if i hear you  kiss? well you better hold on because that meant we got to GO! Mumzy found that out the hard way heheheh. When I was 4 years old I was bought by a very nice woman in Brunswick and I made that long ride all the way to Maine in a trailer (which I love to ride in). She kept me for a few years but she didnt do much with me. I had alot of friends in the pasture but she could tell what I really wanted was a person of my own. Mumzy read about me in that magazine that sells everything from horses to lawnmowers (I was very lucky because there are some real mean people who buy horses from that magazine) but I came to Brooksville. I had a young girl ride me for the summer but she went away to school so I became Mumzys horse. Perfect for an older person who knew how to ride but didnt really push me too hard. I never let her relax completely..... its that thoroughbred worm in my brain I think. But I behaved extremely well for not being ridden in a long time. We went into the woods alot - something I had never done. It was scary at first but I had a friend with me, Her name was Rose and I learned alot from her. Shes gone now, along with Lucky and soon Mercedes. I have had too many friends leave me.... Anyway, I love going in the woods now, I feel better when I have  a friend with me but if I had a confident patient person with me I would be fine on my own. Ok, Im done for now, gotta go get some of that hay before Merecedes eats it all.... I'll have Mumzy take some pictures of me soon but for now, these are a few pictures of me with my girl. Talk to you soon.....
